Specialist Varicose Vein and Cosmetic Thread Vein Clinic.
Combining many years of clinical practice the Pinewoods clinic have developed a comprehensive pathway for management of varicose veins. Although we may conduct initial assessments remotely we advise that all patients undergoing treatment should have a face to face clinical assessment by one of our experienced consultant team.
You will require a venous duplex by our clinical vascular scientist prior to treatment unless you have had an appropriate scan elsewhere in the preceding 12 months. Typically we would offer endothermal ablation under local anaesthetic for main trunk veins. The visible varicose veins can be treated at the time with foam sclerotherapy or avulsions if they are large. Ideally, final cosmetic touches to thread veins should follow complete treatment of larger varicose veins.
The NHS and some private medical providers will provide a limited varicose vein treatment.
We are happy to offer further vein treatment following completed varicose vein treatment elsewhere.

Foam sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to treat varicose veins and spider veins. It involves injecting a sclerosing agent (a special chemical that irritates the vein walls) in the form of a foam directly into the affected veins.
RFA ablation with foam refers to a combined treatment for varicose veins that uses both RFA (Radiofrequency Ablation & Foam Sclerotherapy.
As part of our comprehensive venous practice, The Pinewoods clinic are delighted to offer the finishing touches with treatment for reticular and thread veins. These are the smaller veins ( 1-2mm) just below the skin that often form in clusters like a spiders web. We are happy to offer thread vein treatment following completed varicose vein treatment elsewhere.
The Vascular Lab at the Pinewoods clinic provides rapid access to vascular diagnostic assessments by our expert and accredited team. The ultrasound duplex is the work horse assessment for vascular disease.
